Custom Test Racks
The following is a brief description of some of the Custom Test Solutions projects undertaken by ATE Solutions Ltd.
BURN-IN SYSTEM
A standalone Test Rack to control the burn in testing of an avionics module. This includes the h/w to perform self test and provide loads, s/w to communicate /download to the UUT and a sequencer to interface with the oven and time the burn in cycles.
H/W Industrial PC in 19 Rack with Monitor and Ticket Printer Operator controls via front panel buttons no keyboard or mouse. GBIB Programmable power supplies Custom Circuit boards for Self test hardware High temperature Umbilical lead to oven.
S/W - Main Program Written in IFR TPG Language Download program written in C++
HIGH POWER BATTERY CHARGER RACK

A Test Rack to provide supplementary test capability to a SPEA ATE System. The Rack provided a variable 3 Phase AC source up to 36KW. Dynamic Switching of loads at currents up to 250A Voltage, Current and Power monitoring. Test programs provided for a variety of different modules.

FUNCTIONAL ATE SYSTEM

A standalone test system consisting of Agilent GPIB Instruments to test a variety of modules for controlling Lasers.
H/W Various Agilent Instruments in 19 Rack , External PC and peripherals. Atmel programming module and NI I/O card to program Calibration data Rack interfaced to integral CAM receiver to take plug in cassettes. Custom cassettes for a number of boards.

MASTER CONTROLLER TEST SYSTEM

A standalone Test Rack to test the driver control box for a Mass transit train. The rack is to be used for the production testing of units and for the support of the product for the next 30 years.
H/W 19 Rack with custom shelf and interface to suit the UUT including Optical Encoder on a Linear Slider for monitoring shaft rotation. Screw mechanism for controlled movement of UUT operating handle. Interface for measuring handle movement forces. Heart of system is NI high speed DAQ card and custom interface Pcb.

GENERAL PURPOSE PXI SYSTEM
A standalone Test system for use in the automotive industry. PXI Rack is built into a custom test bench and connects to a CAM operated cassette/receiver fixture.
H/W NI PXI Rack with Integral controller Basic analogue functional cards and relay cards CAN card and custom PLC signalling. High speed sampling card for Frequency response analysis.
S/W - Program Written in NI Teststand and LabView.
FLASH PROGRAMMING SYSTEM
A standalone solution to program the on board flash devices on a CPU Board.
H/W Cam operated test fixture with in built flash programmer.
MOTION TABLE
A motion Table to accurately turn an avionics instrument 360 degrees through two different axis.
H/W Geared stepper motors with drive electronics. Optical Sensing of movement. NI Motion control board
S/W - Main Program Written in NI Labview/Motion Control software.
PNEUMATIC TEST SYSTEMS
Various Test systems to test the braking system of trains. These mix standard electronic test instrumentation with software control and measurement of pneumatics. The systems replaced manual test systems with an automated test facility.
H/W Large custom test frames built for production use with innovative quick Release interfaces. Industrial PC with GPIB and digital I/O Large bore pneumatic feeds to In built reservoirs Pressure control using Druck GPIB controlled pressure source RS232 Pressure indicators.
S/W - Programs written in IFR TPG and NI Labview.
CUSTOM SECURITY TEST SYSTEMS
A number of solutions to speed up the testing of security products such as Alarm panels , PIR Modules and Dual TEC modules.
H/W Pneumatic test fixtures with pneumatic control of functions such as keypad Button pressing, tamper switches etc. Testing controlled by a custom PCB built into the fixture. Solution developed for auto triggering of PIR detectors Shielding techniques developed for microwave detector Fixture developed for testing up to 16 units at a time.
